A film about a cable car should be able to be seen at a cable car, according to the Dutch Mountain Film Festival, and Kabelbaan Valkenburg agreed!
On 2 November, the one-off surreal fairy tale Gondola will be shown on location at the chairlift, including a tour of the cable car.
In the Georgian mountains, a gondola connects the village with the small town in the valley. When one gondola goes up, the other goes down to the valley. Every half hour, halfway down, the gondolas meet.
This is when Iva and Nino, the conductors of the gondola, meet. At first, they greet each other casually, but over time they develop a rapport that goes beyond a wink.
The cable car in Valkenburg aan de Geul is the perfect place to see this film with Tim Burton-like elements by Veit Helmer. Are you more into thrills? Then go see the ski lift horror film Frozen on 31 October.
