The Amstel Gold Race is the Netherlands’ best-known annual cycling classic and the only Dutch one-day race on the UCI World Tour. The race has been held since 1966, and 2027 will mark its 61st edition.

On Sunday, the Markt in Maastricht provides the vibrant setting for the start of the Amstel Gold Race. The women will set off first at 9.55 am, followed by the men at 10.40 am. After the start, the peloton winds its way through the beautiful hills of Zuid-Limburg, passing through municipalities such as Stein, Sittard-Geleen, Voerendaal, Gulpen-Wittem and the cycling city of Valkenburg. The finish line is located between Berg en Terblijt and Vilt, where the women are expected to arrive at around 2.00 pm and the men at approximately 5.00 pm.
It’s not just on Sunday that Zuid-Limburg is all about the Amstel Gold Race. There is plenty to see and do throughout the entire weekend, and this celebration of cycling has grown into a world-class event.
On Saturday, 17 April, the
Toerversie Amstel Gold Race takes centre stage, with no fewer than 15,000 recreational cyclists from around the world taking part.
