Philippe Gilbert Cauberg Classic

Landal Kasteeldomein de Cauberg
Valkenburg
The Philippe Gilbert Cauberg Classic is a unique recreational cycling tour through the heart of Zuid-Limburg, named after one of the greatest classics riders of his generation. On Saturday 5 September, Valkenburg aan de Geul once again sets the scene for a day full of cycling experiences, with the iconic Cauberg at its centre.

After two successful editions, you now experience the third edition, where enjoyment, challenge and freedom take centre stage. The tour consists of several individual loops that are connected to each other.

This allows you to decide for yourself how many loops you ride and which ones you choose, creating your ideal distance and level of difficulty. Whether you ride one loop or several in a row, each route has its own character and reveals a different side of the Zuid-Limburg Heuvelland.

You cycle along well-known and lesser-known roads, past iconic climbs, characteristic villages and wide-open views. Of course, the Cauberg is included — the climb inseparably linked to the name Philippe Gilbert.

His impressive victories on this climb and his rich palmarès make him the figurehead of the event and give the tour extra meaning. What makes the Philippe Gilbert Cauberg Classic truly special is its relaxed and personal atmosphere. No mass crowds, but plenty of space to ride together, enjoy the landscape and experience cycling in an accessible way.

The tour is suitable for cycling enthusiasts of all levels: from seasoned riders to recreational cyclists who want to discover Zuid-Limburg at their own pace. Start and finish are located at one central spot in Valkenburg, where you return after each loop.

This provides clarity, flexibility and a lively meeting place where you can end the day in a relaxed atmosphere. The Philippe Gilbert Cauberg Classic is not a race, but an ode to cycling in Zuid-Limburg.

A day where freedom of choice, riding together and enjoying iconic roads come together, with the Cauberg as the undisputed centre of the story.
