In the festively lit marlstone corridors of the Municipal Cave (Gemeentegrot) in Valkenburg, you will find the largest underground Christmas market in Europe. At Christmas time the endless maze has been transformed into an extensive Christmas market for the real Christmas lover!

All stops have been pulled out to shroud every nook and cranny in the Christmas spirit: enjoy the richly decorated decors, hundreds of small lights and cozy stalls with gifts for yourself or for under the tree. Of course, you can also treat yourself to the drinks, dishes, snacks and delicacies that typically belong to a classic Christmas market.…

Visit the Municipal Cave!

Prepare and plan your visit in advance. Keep in mind that the cave does not have a ticket office. Tickets for the Christmas market in the Municipal Cave must be purchased online. The Municipal Cave is wheelchair accessible and dogs are not allowed.
