The success of culinary walking route ‘Route d’Amuse’ has been unprecedented for years and the recipe is simple. During one of the walking routes you will receive a delicious ‘amuse bouche’ at each of four different catering establishments. The routes allow you to discover a part of Christmas Town Valkenburg, but also some of its beautiful surroundings. This year there are no fewer than 4 routes to walk.

This culinary walk is the ideal way to spend a long morning or afternoon enjoying a small bite to eat and walking with your family, a group of friends or colleagues, at the end or beginning of the year. Equally tasty bites are provided to both children and vegetarians!
Make the Route d'Amuse even more relaxing and travel by Public Transport. The train takes you directly to the heart of Valkenburg. What routes are there?
This year there are five different Route d’Amuse Christmas routes, each with its own theme and a selection of cozy restaurants and cafés:
- Route 1 (yellow), sporty and nature-oriented (5 km): Shimano Experience Center – Zoete Zoen – ’t Hoekje Party & Bites – Nous.
- Route 2 (blue), a delightful walk along the Geul River (6.5 km): Shimano Experience Center – Geulhemmermolen – Burgemeester Quicx – Wijnbrouwerij Flint.
- Route 3 (red), wedding castle & charming Valkenburg (4.5 km): Mon Rève – Restaurant Bruis – Bij de Jongens – Taverne ’t Koetshoes.
- Route 4 (green), a leisurely stroll through the “Beemden” meadows and along the Geul (5.5 km): Castle Schaloen – Bie Jeanneke – De Herbergier – B&B Het Gerendal.
- Route 5 (purple), along the Geul to a historic castle and hotel (5.5 km): Castle Schaloen – Parkhotel Valkenburg – ’t Hoekje Party & Bites – Taverne ’t Koetshoes.
